About Black Boys Code
Black Boys Code is a nonprofit organization that believes in inspiring young Black men to success in technology and science careers, viewing it as a reachable career destination. Black Boys Code developes workshops, mentorships, and hackathons that are tailored to the needs of young Black males in order to better equip them for the 21st century workforce in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineeering, Mathematics).
The Beginning
Black Boys Code found it’s inception in 2015. Created by longtime tech businessman, founder and CEO Bryan Johnson started Black Boys Code to address the lack of diversity and representation in the burgeoning fields of technology and science. It’s mission is to open Black kids’ eyes to the great opportunities in these high paying and rewarding careers.
Help Us Expand
In a few short years, Black Boys Code has grown to 11 chapters in Canada with a new Chicago chapter in 2022 with future expansions planned. You can help us by contributing to our mission and reach more Black kids with a donation through our secure donation form.
